Guest guest
Hello everyone, My son has been casein free for 8 months, wheat free for 6 months, and gluten free for 2 months. We removed the offending foods gradually, because he is such a picky eater and has oral defensiveness. We have seen great success with the diet. He has been constipated all his life, but this went away with the removal of milk. We have seen increased eye contact, greater attention span and focus, and increase in speech. The interesting thing with the speech was 5 days after removing the final source of gluten (cherrios) he started to say and use mom and dad without prompting. He has made tremendous gains in kindergarten this year. I think the diet has made it so much easier for him to learn. He is writing and spelling words and is reading at or above grade level. He knows about 70 sight words and seems to enjoy learning more. About 2 months ago we started seeing some regression, but only in behaviors. He continues to do well in learning. This does coincide with the final removal of gluten. but should'nt these behaviors be going away again. He had stopped these obsessive behaviors after the removal of casein and wheat. My other question is about harmony farms original rice milk. Has anyone else seen a problem with this milk? My son tried it the other day in the morning and the reports form school said he was spacey and just not with it.. I have been getting the same reports for 4 days now. I thought that HF rice milk was on the o.k. list , but something seems to be bothering him. The ingredients do list rice syrup solids. I have been giving him EnzymeAid and now I am questioning whether this is causing the problem. Please help.
