Hi,

This is what britannica has about it: Kinetic, or motor, apraxia

results in one upper extremity's being affected so that the

individual, even though there is no muscle weakness, cannot carry out

fine motor acts, such as turning a key in a lock.

I was under the impression that my son had motor apraxia in that his

upper body muscles were weak. We were advised to have him play with

wet sand and containers (to build up the muscles of his arms) and to

have him play with clay, and rubber balls, squeezing them with his

fingers (for the muscles in his hands). We got a small weight for him

and clamps (from hardware) and had him workout with these. Anything

that uses these weakened muscles will help.

I hope this is of some help to you.
