Hi Barbara,

Malisa just told me about this equipment provider since I will need a

feeding pump, supplies, etc for my J tube.

I haven't had any experience with them and am thinking about using them. My

other choice is a provider called

Apria healthcare. Apria is the company that my husband uses for his cpap.

Have you checked out their website yet?

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful....

We've been using Apria for my old pump (Kangaroo Pet) and supplies but they

cannot provide the Zevec on the rental terms that my insurance requires. So

we are looking for another supplier. We did look at the Option Care site and

it looks good.

Thanks!

Barbara

Barbara,

I use Option Care. I started with them about a year ago when I

needed IV's a few times a week. I am using them again now, due to the

need for more fluid than I get through the J tube. I get my supplies for

the G/J tube through them. I'm not sure what type of pump you need, but

the one near me uses the Kangaroo pump. I had heard about the Zevex pump

though, and asked them about it last September. They had just gotten

some in and I am their first patient on it, in my area. I am very

satisfied with the service of the Option Care near me. I had some

insurance problems and gave them a call. They are taking care of it all,

even contacting my doctor on the part he messed up on. I usually have to

make all the calls myself, but they have done a lot for me and I don't

have to worry about it not getting done, which has been great! This is

the only health care company I have gone through, but I am very

satisfied. How have you been feeling lately?

Thanks, a. I've had the Kangaroo pump through Apria, but my

nephrologist wants me to do daytime fluid drips now, so we are trying to get

my insurance to switch to Zevex. Apria can only provide Zevex if insurance

pays the whole cost upfront rather than monthly rental. So my case worker is

trying Option Care. I'm glad to hear you've had a good experience with this

company. At first, we had a lot of problems with Apria, but over time worked

them out. We would stick with them if they could provide the pump we need.

Thanks, a. My nephrologist wants me to start daytime fluid drips in

addition to nighttime feedings, and we need to switch to the Zevex for this

to work well, practically speaking. (Kangaroo beeps when tilted and I tilt a

lot!) We had been using Apria with my Kangaroo pump, but they cannot provide

the Zevex except if my insurance pays total cost upfront rather than monthly

rental, so my case manager is looking at Option Care. I'm glad to hear

you've had good service from them. Initially, we had trouble with Apria on

delivery and billing, but got things worked out after the first year.

I'm doing better now, much encouraged! Thanks for asking. I hope you can

hold your own and keep the part-time teaching going. I have *faint* memories

of what it was like to be a teacher from many many years ago....:-)

Take care,

Barbara
