Guest guest
My son used to pour salt into his hand and eat it all day long. He loved salt, but he hasn't shown an interest in it for a couple of months. It may be that the longer they're on the diet, the less of these preferences we see. Guest guest
I am sure rice is ok ( we preferable use plain old BROWN RICE..nothing else reads under the ingredients).. bit then again I didnt see the post that you are mentioning. As far as the salt.. we use SEA SALT (you can get it at the HEALTH FOOD STORE) Table salt has alot of additives. Guest guest
I read somewhere, and now I wish I could remember where, that people under the influence of opiates crave salt and spices. My son's cravings for salt have also gone away. He also used to eat salt, and garlic powder straight from his hand (yuk) April (in mass) Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. More recently, Megson theorized on a salt craving (and, I think, a craving for the capsaicin pepper family such as salsa) being due to a particular biochemical need, but I don't recall the details. My children have all craved salt at some time or other, but Elliot is the only one I recall consistently craving highly-flavored foods like mustard, pepper, spices. He will eat red spices straight from the cupboard even now, 4 1/2 years into the gfcf diet. Hope this helps. Lorilyn
Guest guest
April, It's me also from Mass. I was wondering if you were interested in getting a food co-op together and maybe anyone else out there from Mass. We could all meet once a month and get an order together and maybe make it a day for our kids to play together. If you are interested let me know.
