Guest guest
Hi there, we are GF, CF and also soy free as well which is proving probably the biggest headache. We rotate corn, and rice amongst other things. I was wondering if anyone had done any research to save me time. My son adores going to Macdonalds for some peculiar reason and it has been one of his very rare little treats to take him there on the odd occasion. However I really need to get serious about the soy as he was +4 on the IGG. Reading through macdonalds nutrition facts brochure and soy is just about in everything. Does anyone know of another fast food chain that serves fries that may be suitable - eg - fried with corn or sunflower oil. This dreaded soy is in just about anything and it is a real limitation to interacting with the outside world, traveling and getting about and I'm getting worn out and fed up with it. I have even thought of taking our own food to Macdonalds and buying a happy meal, trashing it - keeping just the packaging and the toy and substituting our own food! Any suggestions for soy free alternatives to macdonalds welcome please, kathy _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Guest guest
Hi, we are soy free also with this diet, so I know the problems it brings. I do not fast food at all with my son. I amke his own food and just give him the toys. McD's will be happy to give you wrappers, cups, etc. for you to have yours already made up for the dieter. Never use the wrapper that has already had a Happy Meal in it as you get cross contamination. I eat alot of Happy Meals now just so I can give him the toys. on Long Island New York ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
Kathy, I'm not sure about the oil that they use, but In-N-Out Burger is one of the few fast food places that uses just plain fresh potatos for their french fries. They cut them right there at the restaurant. I know they're not everywhere but hopefully you have one near you. Also, they don't do kids meals so there are no toys. They also offer what's called a protein burger, which is just the meat patti wrapped in lettuce with a piece of tomato. My son has never had a problem with their food.
