Further information on GFCF sweets.

TRADITIONAL ENGLISH CANDY "

Uncle Joe's Mint Balls are still manufactured using the same

traditional methods as when Mrs Santus originally made the sweets in her

kitchen in 1898. The completely natural 'secret recipe' has been passed down

through the family generations. Uncle Joe's Mint Balls contain no artificial

colours or additives; they are GM free, gluten free and are suitable for the

ever-increasing vegetarian/ vegan market.

[GFCFrecipes] GFCF candy

Lee and everyone,

With gluten intolerance and allergies to corn, dairy, soy, orange,

chocolate, and on and on, there hasn't even been a cough drop much less a

piece of candy in the diet for years! At TJ Maxx a couple weeks ago, I found

a candy from England, actually labeled gluten free: Uncle Joe's Mint Balls.

They are amazing! I bought all three cans in stock and have asked my sister

to be on the lookout for them at the store near her (1,000 miles away).

Haven't found a US distributor yet but I will keep trying. They're just

peppermint oil, cream of tartar, and cane sugar. Within a few days of buying

them, a cold and sore throat had me so glad to have them for soothing the

throat. They're not " mean mint " like Altoids -- kind of gentler but still a

nice, clean minty taste.

Maybe if enough of us pester our regular stores to stock them, there will

be one more treat for people with multiple food allergies.
