Tonight my NT 8th Grader received a 1st place at her Middle-school science

fair and we went out to dinner to celebrate...The restaurant was very noisy,

crowded, lots of bright lights, music, etc., ( I was over stimulated!) and

(2.5 years, ASD, GFCF for 7 months) did great! When the waitress

approached to take orders and spoke to him, he glanced at her, reached out to

touch her tray and tolerated her talking to him. He managed to stay

entertained while waiting for the dinner, ate his food from home happily and

just generally acted like a normal kid (well, maybe a bit better)!

Just 2 or 3 months ago he would have been losing it (screaming, biting,

trying to get to my breasts to nurse) over the sensory overload and the

presence of so many people! Wow, now I really can see the improvement that

has been so gradual I don't notice it every day.

PS... The science fair project was about the effects of SerenAid on wheat

Gluten and will be going to the SanDiego County wide Science Fair. The

background research included info on Autism, Celiac disease and the GFCF

diet. She even mentioned this group in her acknowledgment!

Thanks for letting me brag a bit!
