Re: Yeast, Phenol, GSE

Hi,

My son likely has yeast. I know he is tremendously sensitive to phenols. When

I give him 2 drops Nutribotic GSE, within minutes, his face turns red and he

becomes lethargic for several hours. Anyone know if this is die-off, in which

case I should continue gradually, or a reaction to the GSE itself?

Also, the first time I gave GSE to him, he licked the outside of his mouth

after eating it, and still has a red mark, about 1/2 inch long, on the side

of his lips. I'd thought this would go away quickly, but it's not going away

at all. I'm guessing the acid in the GSE caused it. Any ideas of how I can

work (gently) on this scar? It's pretty distinct, though is the least of our

actual problems, though I'm not too happy about causing it.

Finally, since I'm a bit worried about the GSE, I've been giving him 1/2

capsule of ProBio Gold, which is supposed to have some anti-yeast properties,

for several weeks. I was up to a capsule a day for a few days, but he was so

hyper on that I reduced the dose. But now he's getting hyper on only 1/2

capsule a day. Is this because of die-off? Or is he not doing well on the

ProBio Gold? Should I continue and stick it out or stop before doing more

damage? How do I know?

Symptoms he has while on ProBio Gold are SO much like phenol problems! And

he's on a brutally low phenol diet, also gets espom salt baths and cream.

Hyperactive, spacy, goofy, red ears. Also, he alternates between constipation

and diahrrea (sp?). This has been going on for weeks now, now improvement

except when I skip a day of ProBio Gold. But then I don't know how to attack

the yeast, so I go back on.

I tried colloidal silver a few days; it also makes him hyper. More die-off?

I'm afraid of agrayia, so don't push the colloidal silver.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Debbie

We don't have any experience with the GSE, but we do use Pro-Bio

Gold. Both my kids had die-off reactions when starting it, but now

have adjusted. It's pretty strong, and even 1/2 capsule is a lot,

IMHO. The label says it has a minimum of 20 billion cells per

capsule, and the rep I spoke to at Kirkman's said that when it's

fresh it likely has more--they try to allow for the fact that it may

lose potency during shipping, or if it isn't refrigerated for short

times.

Anyway, my kids usually each get 1/4 to 1/2 capsule per day, and we

worked up to that gradually. It is certainly possible that he just

can't tolerate that particular supplement, but it might be worth

reducing the dose first to see if that makes a difference.

Good luck,

Kat

It could be die off, but that fast and that reaction, I would say

probably GSE/phenol reaction. GSE is high phenol. You can try just

one drop, but you might want to try another yeast treatment.

It can be die off, but my kids do not tolerate probiotics, even with

enzymes. So it can be that also.

Yes, for my son yeast symptoms are the same as phenol symptoms. I

have found however, that his phenol sensitivity disappeared after

several rounds of chelation, so you can consider that. Also, HNI has

a new phenol enzyme, you can ask for a sample of that. It helped my

son's phenol issues while he had them, it might work for your son

also.

Die-off could cause a person to be either hyper or lethargic, as their body

fights off the yeast. Whenever I start anything with Evan, I start as small

as possible and work up. Takes longer to see results maybe but does not

create such a reaction with die off.

Colloidal silver does not cause agrayia but silver nitrates do.
