I have been looking for a book like this for years. I just bought a copy and

had to share. If this is old news to you folks, sorry. This book covers most

childhood illnesses (ear infections, colds, flu, fever, etc.) by describing the

conditions symptoms, then describes various treatment alternatives with doseage

recommendations included. The treatment alternatives listed include all of the

ones below as well as bach flower remedies and accupressure. For example, the

listing for ear infections has:

Conventional Treatment: listing common antibiotics prescribed, pain

killers/fever reducers, antihistimine recommendations, etc.

Dietary Guidlines: lists keeping your child well hydrated, suggesting several

forms of liquids to use and also suggests eliminating dairy foods.

Nutritional Supplements: suggests acidopilus if on antibiotics, vitamin C and

bioflavonoids, and Zinc

Herbal Treatment: suggests and Echinacea and goldenseal combination, garlic, and

mullein oil

Homeopathy: lists several combinations of symptoms and then a specific

recommendation for each combo of symptoms.

General Recommendations: suggests propping child at a 30 degree angle to

promote drainage of middle ear, warm compress for the affected ear, and

recommends avoiding air travel while the child has an ear infection.

Prevention: suggests not exposing your child to cigarette smoke, massaging your

child's ear, an elimination diet to determine if allergies are contributing to

the problem, etc.

There is an adult version of this book, too. I have no affiliation with the

makers of these books, I just wanted to share info about them because so many

of us are looking for alternatives to conventional drugs and antibiotics. This

book will give you enough info to make informed decisions about what treatment

methods are right for your child.
