Guest guest
Hi everyone, Dh's aunt was just diagnoses with hereditary hemochromatosis, which is too much iron in the blood. This sounds oddly familiar to many of our kids who see to have too many heavy metals in their bodies. Does anyone else have a relative with this? DH & the kids are probably going to be tested for it. Guest guest
My father and his brother both had it. His sister also, but hers didn't surface until after a hysterectomy. Seems the monthly loss of blood keeps the iron levels from building up. From these 3 siblings, there are 3 children, myself being one of them. Neither I nor my female cousin are of the age to have the disease come to light, ie we still have periods. My only male cousin lives in Europe and I don't know his status. This is a very interesting connection. I'll ask my Dr. if there is a test that can show if I have it even before I hit menopause. Thanks for the idea!
