Guest guest
Regarding the Ancient Harvest Quinoa Gluten Alert yesterday, here is the response that I received from the manufacturer: From: QUINOACORP@... Sent: March 6, 2001 5:21:55 PM GMT Subject: Re: wheat-free pasta Dear , We did have a problem with some of our Canadian Pastas that were found to have minute traces of gluten and these were pulled and destroyed in Canada. We have since been checking with our manufacturers to safeguard our customers and we are having our pasta tested at each run to make sure that this does not happen again. We have been selling our Wheat Free Pastas to the Gluten Intolerant for 15 years and even those with extreme allergies have reported to us that they have not had any difficulties what so ever with consuming our pastas. We will continue to test our products and make sure that they stay free of gluten. At this time the only problem that we see is in the packaging end where it is still possible for a wheat pasta to become " stuck " during the packaging of wheat pasta and then get free and end up in one of our wheat free boxes. When this happens it is easily spotted as a different shape and color (brown rather than yellow)and can be removed before cooking with no contamination to the product. I hope this helps ease your mind, please know that we are in the process of working with our co-packers to eliminate this problem all together.
