I know I already posted once, but I have something else to add. You

are right about the quality of life being important. My husband and

I have spoken about this many times. As most of you know I have

been 100% dependent on a pacer for the last 23 years. (Since I was

23 years old-half of my life ) I guess that qualifies as 'life

support'. But I have been able to have a fairly good quality life

for most of the time. I even had my son after the first pacer was

put in. I raised my children. Loved my grandchildren. Made new

friends, had new experiences, finished my degree etc. So I would be

very careful about letting someone else decide when I should die.

It is my decision, along with my husband and family. It is a

slippery slope and once you give up that control you don't know

where you might end up.
