Re: ear infection remedy

Here's one of the posts I saved about ear infection remedies. My sister

tried the Garlic oil and said it stinks for a long time.

·< Here is what you need & how to go about treatment from the first

sign of an ear infection/or fluid buildup....

Go to health food store & purchase a small bottle each of Garlic oil and

Mullin oil.

(there are some mixed ear oil remedies out there, but better that they be

seperate)

Have these on hand at all times & begin using them for treament as soon as

you even THINK that there may be an oncoming ear infection (ie: tugging at

ears/shaking head/whinyness/low grade fever/ & trouble eating or drinking

indicating possible trouble in swallowing without pain. Early detection is

the key to keeping bacteria in hand! note: don't be afraid to 'bother' the

doctor & have him check the ears whenever your concerned. Then treat as

follows...

for the first 2-3 days....use the Garlic oil only. Treat both ears even if

only one seems affected. put 2/3 drops in each ear (warmed if possible) 3 xs

per day. Allow to sit & sink in by having the child keep head tilted &

jiggle

the ear/massaging, ect.

then for the next 4-5 days, do the same using the Mullin oil.

in between the drops...you can indeed use a warm washcloth compressed to

soothe & loosen congestion & continue massage the area around the

ear...stroking lightly down the (from the ear) encouraging the eustachian

tubes to drain into the throat. Also, treat the fever or ear

pain/uncomfortabilty with a CFGF pain reliever...or if you are not into

using

over the counter remedies such as these, you can comfort with camamille tea

or homeopathic tablets.

Then have he Dr. re-check the status fo the ear. Continue treatment if

neccesary.

Use your thumb to rub his neck starting just under the ear and run it

straight down to his collar bone. You are pushing any fluid away from the

ear and down towards the heart. Do this every hour or so. Do both sides.

(If you do this on yourself, you can feel the ear canal open slightly inside

in your ear. This will help you feel how much pressure to apply. )

Good luck.
