Guest guest
My OTC-supplement bottle of folic acid has a big all-caps warning about not exceeding 1,000 mcg. (i.e. 250% of the DV), or not exceeding 500 mcg. (125% DV) for pregnant or lactating women. BTW my bottle has 800 mcg. tabs. I realize that COMMONLY, mito-therapeutic dosages for certain supplements are sometimes hugely more than the DV. And I also know that some supplements, Vitamins C and E come to mind, have been tested at, and are commonly taken at, huge multiples of their DV, for general consumption (C is reputed to help with the common cold, etc.). But I also know that only a few supplements have a " dangerous " level that's just a few times the DV, and apparently folic acid is one of those. So FWIW I just thought it would be wise to be aware of both of these somewhat conflicting points. Steve D. It may depend on whether you are taking a tablet, capsule, sublingual, or powder, maybe you aren't getting all of the 800? Take care, RH > > > Thanks for the quick reply!
