Guest guest
If your child eats something that's not on the diet.. Will he slip back? Do all of you follow the elimination diet? Or do some of you just change/ modify to GFCF? I've been reading that some Autistic Children eat certain foods because of the container the food is in? Is this pretty much true for most? Do you use certain colored plates, bowls and cups that encourages them to eat better? Thanks for putting up with all my questions, You all have been so helpful. To me this diet is a lifesaver and I stick to it always. We went on the diet overnight a year ago when I heard about it, we did not use an elimination diet. We do have slip ups (like her eating something not GFCF at preschool) and when they happens she gets very spaced out, moody, and has diareah. We can tell every time it happens because these three things always happen together. I would recommend reading Karyn Seroussi's book " Unravelling the mysteries of autism and PDD " as this book explains all this stuff and is easy to read. Good Luck!!!! -
Guest guest
Usually when my son deviates from the diet his histamine levels go through the roof. Diet deviations for him, espically w/dairy undermine his immune system and could actually send him into diabetes. This is why it is great to work with a doctor that understands the immune issues related to Autism....you get all the explanations of why, and it helps prevent future issues.
