I remember reading somewhere that Vitamin A Palmitate is to be avoided. I just

realized that we have been giving our son DariFree for about a year and it

contains Vitamin A Palmitate.

Can someone refresh my memory about why Vitamin A Palmitate is to be avoided?

Also, if we need to stop using DariFree can someone suggest an alternative that

is GFCF and soy and corn free?

Thanks,

One of the doctors theorizes, and is attempting to prove, that autistic children

can't process or absorb Vit. A in palminate form. It's not bad, it's just

useless. I think that all Vit. enriched items use the palminate form. I know

formula does. Cod liver oil is supposedly the pure form that can be used.

I did see improvements in my son when I added lecithin to his diet because it's

supposed to help with the absorption of fat soluble vitamins, of which vit. A is

one. However, we have switched to Cod Liver Oil now. Yuck! I can't believe he

takes it but he does.
