Guest guest
Hi Is there any way of checking a child's vision when said child is non-verbal? I ask because I'd like to have DD's vision checked. It suddenly occured to me that she may be having a hard time focusing on things because she's farsighted? She can see fairly small things, but I wonder if they may be blurry. After all, I can see things at a distance, but if I'm not wearing my glasses, don't ask me what they are!!! Thanks Margaret San
Guest guest
Some eye doctors use what is called an auto-refractor to check the vision. It automatically checks the vision without the patient having to say anything. I just took my son to the eye doctor last week and they used one to check his vision. He is verbal, but still had problems with the charts. - in Ohio Vision Testing? > Hi > > Is there any way of checking a child's vision when said child is non-verbal? > I ask because I'd like to have DD's vision checked. Guest guest
Yes, eyes can be tested if a child is non-verbal. I took my son to a pediatric ophthalmologist with experience in autism. A regular pediatric dr should also be able to do this. Lana
