Can you call the pharmacy about it. Does anyone know if they can take the

Amoxil and take Pepcid AC or Alka Seltzer Gold with it and not have too bad

a reaction?

Well, I just gave my son his first dose of Amoxil. The pharmacist

didn't have a clue to it's gfcf status and of course, there is no one

available at Kline Beecham on the weekend...however, I did find

a post in the archives dated 1/28/2001 from S. who stated that

the oral pink liquid amoxicillin with a dosage of 125mg/5ml contains

lactose but all the other dosages were lactose and gluten free. My

son is taking 400mg/5ml so I am hoping it is ok and totally caseine

free, not just lactose free. Now, for another quandry: I was so

excited that I got my son's pediatrician to order Nystatin as well

that I didn't question it's form. Now I have a bottle of suspension

with all of these questionable ingredients....I checked it against

both the acceptable and unacceptable ingredients lists but found only

one or two. Does anyone know the status of Nystatin Oral suspension,

USP, made by Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals? The first ingredient is

alcohol which I know can be a problem. Also listed: artificial wild

cherry and banana flavor, a couple of artificial colors, glycerin,

USP, magnesium aluminum silicate, methylparaben, NF, potassium

phosphate dibasic, USP, propylene glycol, USP, propylparaben, NF, USP

and sucrose. May also contain citric acid. I am not giving this

until I know that it is ok. If anyone knows, please get back with

me. Thanks, Rosie
