Guest guest
Hello Everyone, Since April's post on Sunday about zinc affecting schizophrenia, etc. and wintertime downslides, I have been looking around a little for more info. I thought this was really interesting. In Murray's " Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine " (by the way, a very good resource for lots of stuff, unfortunately he doesn't include autism), I found in his section on celiac disease that, according to his research, celiac disease does not respond to dietary intervention (removal of gluten) IF THERE IS AN UNDERLYING ZINC DEFICIENCY. If anyone has this book, it's pg. 226. I began supplementing with zinc on Sunday, but I believe zinc is one of those where you have to supplement for awhile before you see any results. If I see any, I'll post again. Also, as some people have been mentioning in their posts, don't forget that zinc can cause nausea if taken on an empty stomach, especially if you take it with echinacea or vit. c (or both! That will really lay you out!) Betty, mom to , Larkin and Ian
