I actually had never heard the word prior to last December when my Orthopaedic

doctor of approx 32 years called me and said he had found the proof that I

didn't have Parkinsons and he needed to find me a Neurologist that actually had

an open mind and would be interested in his findings instead of hanging up on

him. I had chemo after my second mastectomy but radiation only after my

hysterectomy when I was 27 and my first mastectomy when I was 30. At present

all of my doctors except my PCP (who won't even discuss the fact) say that test

results point

to Mitochondrial Myopathy and it is likely that is what has been the root of my

problems most of my life but they always blamed it on something else. I never

could take gym for some unknown reason or the other, rheumatic fever could have

caused my heart condition, diptheria might be why I had convulsions off and on

for several years, I fell a lot because I was clumsy and a " tomboy " , the list of

maybe is very long and they say that it has been the same problem since I was

young. Be sure and keep me posted about the mass in your lung. Do they think

there is a chance the mass is scar-tissue? They thought I had a hernia but the

CT showed a breakdown in the abdominal wall due to scar-tissue, they did find

that the pain in my side was due to a cyst on my kidney and I see my Urologist

next week. Dolores

Dolores, thank you for sharing that info with me, i also had cancer

when i was 28 years old, in my right breast, and now the mass in lung

is under my right breast. ( i had a lumpectomy and radiation for the

breast cancer). Hearing that you had a needle biopsy and radiation

for your lung cancer makes this less scarier for me. My doc did say

that one option if this is cancer would be biopsy first. Im just

praying, even thought the docs are thinking cancer, that the cat scan

will prove them wrong. Did you have mito when you had the lung

cancer? I believe i had mito since childhood but very mild then. I

really think my mito kicked in full force when i was 35, and Im

wondering how mito will effect this situation. Thanks for the

prayers. And i will keep ya posted. Hugs, Barb
