Guest guest
Hey all, i went for my cat scan, and i knew within the 1st 15 minutes it was bad. They stopped the test in the middle of cat scan and asked so many questions, did i ever have surgery before on my chest area, and so i told them about the breast cancer. They then took more pictures via cat scan. At the end i could tell just by the look on their faces i was going to get bad news. We talked somemore and they said i would here from my doc today. I was home by 3:00pm and my doc called me at 4:30, he asked me if they said anything to me at the cat scan and i told him we discussed my mito and thouroughly discussed my previous breast cancer, he asked me did i have an appointment to come to the family practice and i told him no, to knock it off and cut to the chase. I told him it was cancer that i already knew it, and he said he didnt like discussing these matters on the phone, and i told him to late, lets kick some cancer butt. He agreed to discuss it by phone reluctenly, but he knows me well enough now. He is calling an radiation oncologist and a pulmo surgeon for me to discuss some options. I will go with the flow, but most likely seek a second opinion, if im not satisfied with whom he chooses. Ive been treated very well with this family practice for the past 2 years. Matts been there since he was 3 yo. They know what i went through for 6 years (the run around of everything is fine with you it cant be mito) from my last family practice. Im actually very upset as the reality of it all is hitting me. CANCER again but in the lung this time. But im also optimistic, i have to fight this with all i got. I need my kids and they need me. I will need some serious support from you all out there in mito land. I will understand for those who cannot handle this subject matter, i ask for your prayers only. I will try to make it to chat tonight, i know alot of ya's had to deal with cancer be it yourselfs or family member with it, and any ideas and encouragement will be appreciated. I cant express enough appreciation for this group, and all you have helped me through over the past couple years, I have grown to cherish you all my mito family!! Many Thanks, Barb
