During my last pregnancy my ob dx'ed a UTI based on a urine sample. Since I had no symptoms at all I didn't belive her and did not want to take abx. I was also seeing a midwife and she suggested I take cranberry in the form of capsules, drink cranberry juice with no sugar, drink lots of water, stay away from sugar, and take Vit. C. You could try those things (though I seriously doubt he will drink unsweetened cranberry juice - very sour) but try the capsules if you can get them in him somehow. I think I got then at GNC. And lots of water, low sugar, and the Vit. C is supposed to help fight it. (Btw, it turns out either I never had the UTI in the first place (which is what I thought, it was probably a contaminated sample) or doing what I did got rid of it, I guess I'll never know. But boy, do I like midwives!).
Guest guest
WOOHOOOO, thanks all for the information. I went with the capsules from kirkmans ....and if this is at all possible, he has not complained AT ALL today. He seems almost back to the potty normal and no complaints of back pain. I used the capsules and opened one up in his water (he is very opposed to " tasted " drinks)...well, he obviously didn't notice because he has had 2 capsules, Thanks again, and hopefully the problem is GONE or GOING!!
