Guest guest
Hi, Has anyone heard of this company (Natren) and their products? Does anyone take their probiotics? I'm still trying to find a good probiotic to give my son. I appreciate the couple of suggestions I've received. Does anyone else has info they can give me on the probiotic you give your child? I'm trying to make an informed choice :-). Thanks, Kathy
Guest guest
Kathy, I think the best Probiotics are: CulturelleGG www.culturelle.com <http://www.culturelle.com/> and Kirkman’s ProBioGold and Saccramyces Boulardii. Ron Natren probiotics Hi, Has anyone heard of this company (Natren) and their products? Does anyone take their probiotics? I'm still trying to find a good probiotic to give my son. Guest guest
Mark, There are probiotic products that can be obtained right from the supermarket, here is a copy of a letter I received after an inquiry from a company that distributes organic dairy products. Best, Carlton Dear : Thank you for your recent e-mail to Horizon Organic . Our top priority at Horizon Organic Dairy is to ensure that we always provide you with the highest quality organic products possible. We believe that organic agricultural practices result in foods that are not only tasty, safe, healthy and wholesome but that are produced without environmental pollution or resource degradation. Your interest is of utmost importance to us, and we take your comments very seriously. Our milk contains lactose, which is the naturally occuring sugar in milk. Lactic acid is the by product of the lactose. Besides the yogurt and sour cream you mentioned, our cottage cheese also contains microbial enzymes. Please visit the many pages of our website at www.horizonorganic.com for great information about our products and company. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. Guest guest
>>> Has anyone heard of this company (Natren) and their products? Yep. These are fine. I use the Culturelle and the Florajen 3 (from my pharmacist). There are lots of good brands around. The milk/kefir stuff wrote about also works well for probiotic source. , do you know if it is okay to bake with the kefir/cheeses/milk or does that kill the probiotics? I am guessing it does but maybe there is a temperature limit. .
Guest guest
, Yes, I am sorry to tell you, that it will probably destroy the beneficial bacteria if heated, but I don't know how hot, I have just been baking the dish, and then just grading the cheese on top. Guest guest
Hi Caroline - did you do that hoovering yet? Being an oldtimer, one thing I will say is, success with probiotics is a very individual thing. Always good to experiment and try new stuff, revisit it later if not suiting straight away, stick with something that seems to be helping and add others to the mix to test out, Sometimes combos of products work better than one alone. Many rotate but I'm not organised enough to do that in any meaningful way - just kinda what takes my fancy and whether I need it to be empty stomach or not (per product instructions) Re Natren - have only heard great things about the Healthy Trinity but haven;t tried them as way outta my price range. We have done CP1 from www.customprobiotics.com but purchased through www.gutdoctor.co.uk for some time - I like them a lot (Going to look into buying statesiide and getting Cally to send them as much chepaer from US) BioKult we always have in hand, use them on my NT boys too Culturelle gives Sam consitpation, quite a novelty in a kid who had liquid poops for years prior to HNI enzymes, but not one I want to repeat! Probiogold did diddly squat - very high doses over 4 months and zero good bacteria on testing no improvements either Having success right now with Sacc Boulardi from Kirkman, didn;t suit him last time round (nasty rash but ? die off related) I am ordering more, Cally swears by them for her Bella Throwing in some odd Primal Defense when I have the strength to crush the beetle looking pills. We were doing this prior to BioKult way back before the McBrides made them, he was doing fine but we switched to BioKult when they stopped producing caps you could empty I have AiA follower friends who say good things about Natures Probiotics, however, given their many sugar filled recipes, long term Nystatin and really weird ideas about treating yeast I have read there, I don;t know how much store to place in that one LOL Others report good stuff with Threelac, Klaire range - Therbiotic Complete etc That should keep you busy investigating - I am keen to know what works for others too Mandi in Sunny Dorset! Was ordering probiotics today and looking thru that DAN notes email you posted last week. Wondered if anyone had tried these probiotics as they were one of 4 types recommended?? Guest guest
lol Mandi, we have had just the opposite, Culturelle I used on my already constipated son and it was great, used it on squidgy pants and it was a nightmare. Multiflora is our chosen probio. Had to laugh about AIA, my son was soo very much worse on their recipes, back then when I was so green I didn't realise he had Candida, and he was eating such a very high carb high sugar diet straight from their recipe book.
