Guest guest
Kim, I would be more inclined to look into occupational therapy to investigate your son's vestibular system. Motion sickness is most often tied to our inner ear/vestibular system. There may be some suggestions that your OT can make. Our daughter (typically developing) had rip roaring motion sickness as a toddler. We knew that if we gave her a small meal prior to travelling, a half a dose of Gravol (more made her comatose), let her sit where she could look out the window and restricted reading or other activities like that then we could usually get through the trip. Our son (our guy with ASD) didn't have motion sickness but did have vestibular issues which made car rides, rides at the amusement part etc. more bearable. Our OT helped us out a lot there.
