Guest guest
I had a bad seizure-like episode tonight. Before it, I ended up doing some stupid stuff and being angry for little or no reason, and was worried I would hurt someone or myself. I felt weak, and laid down. My arm started jerking uncontrollably - if I tried to stop it, my shoulder and arm would jerk harder. This lasted about 15 minutes. It occurred on my " bad side " , where I have residual weakness and neuropathy. I would have thought it was a bad tic or twitching, but now I'm wondering if I was having an " aura " beforehand, and was acting irrationally. I have some residual weakness, and it took me about an hour to resolve the mental symptoms. So I'm wondering if it was a focal seizure, or just severe twitching (my arm was jumping more than 6 inches off the bed), or a variant of myoclonus. I'm concerned because I just started some new medication, Zithromax, for bronchitis, and I know that erythromycin has been implicated in mito damage, but up until possibly now, I've been okay with Zithromax. Anyone have problems with Zithromax? I've had EEG's, brain MRI's, and two 48 hour EEG's, but they didn't find any evidence of epilepsy. Take care, RH
