Guest guest
I too see Dr. Mark Korson since 2001. I agree..he is the BEST. I have a brain injury from stroke that happened before I was digignosed (spelling sorry, lost that in stroke), I was told three years after stroke that stroke was caused by MITOCHONDRIAL DISEASE. Have been seeing DR.MARK (KORSON) since. He is so great with me as I have a harder time (damage from stroke) and Dr. Mark Korson just hangs in there with me. He stays slow...for me...and explains things so that I can understand better...where as most of you may get it right away (i don't). If you can get to Boston New England Medical Center " Childrens Floating Hospital " Dr. Mark Korson is the best. Guest guest
I will be seeing Dr. Korson for the first time in the next few months, and I look forward to it. Have you had your ammonia levels tested? When mine are high, I get severe " brain fog " , including dementia and anger for no reason. It is hard to convey it to others when I get like this, they just think I'm being a " pain in the a** " . Eventually, I figure it out and take some extra medication to lower my ammonia levels, and I can finally feel like a real person again. I was told that high ammonia levels in the blood can come from bacteria in the intestines producing it, so you might have gotten a growth of these bad guys when you had appendix problems. FYI, my GI doctor treated this issue, not my neuro, although my neuro first detected it. I literally feel like I am losing my mind when my ammonia levels creep up, and have a lot of trouble getting out of that state. I'm contacting a nurse at my GI doctor's office to change my medications for better blood ammonia control (like, maybe 6 sane days per week instead of only 1?) Take care, RH > > I too see Dr. Mark Korson since 2001.
