My sister-in-law put my niece in pull ups whenever they travel in the car.

She told my niece that it was ok to go in the pull up if she had to if they

couldn't find a place to stop in time.

Incidentally, when I taught Kindergarten we were able to have an astronaut

come speak to the class. When it was time to ask questions, one of my

students asked how do astronauts go to the bathroom in space! The astronaut

said that when they are going up and coming down, they wear diapers! They

have to be strapped in for long periods of time... can't remember how many

hours. Maybe 12? So you could tell your son about astronauts using diapers

when they are stuck in their space shuttle seats!
