Guest guest
Jo, I have a nephew who was diagnosed with this and it turned out to be allergy problems. I have also heard of celiac disease being diagnosed as failure to thrive. But being on this diet should really help eliminate both. Have you considered other foods as possible culprits? Corn? Soy? Are you giving her supplements from Kirkman Labs? Have you been careful about the possible cross contaminations of foods? She could be very sensitive and even a minute amount could cause problems. You have my prayers. I hope someone here can come up with something, I know how awful you must feel. Lolita >Subject: Possible Failure to Thrive? > > I'm very concerned about my 9 mos. old daughter. Guest guest
Connie, My 5yr old daughter went through a really bad time last fall. She developed allergies too. She had been on the GFCF diet for about 2-3 months and was doing well and all of a sudden she started waking at night constantly again. She developed full blown tantrums for the first time and she wasn't working well at school. It was scary and very unlike her. She is usually very happy and smiling. I spoke with her doctors and we decided that probably the allergies were beginning a vicious cycle and we had treated them too late. Eventually with the cold weather she was OK again. About a two weeks ago her allergies started again. We began giving her zyrtec at bedtime and it really seems to be working. BTW the liquid is GFCF. Hope this helps.
