Guest guest
Hello all - Just wanted to ask if any of you had experience with nose bleeds. Our little guy seems to get them frequently. I know that it is still officially winter and that dries you out, but I just wondered if this was a common issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Guest guest
* Hi, my little guy on this diet doesn't have nose bleeds but I also have a grown 27 year old son and when he was 7 and 8 years old he would have nose bleeds alot and for no apparent reason. I was told by doctors and everyone don't worry. Well one night I couldn't stop the bleeding and rushed him to emergency, they stopped it and took tests and said all was ok also, but to follow it up with his pedi.. Next day his pedia. cortarized (spelling?) his nose right in the office and Rob never had a nose bleed since then. Rob said it didn't hurt either. Might bwe worth asking your pedi. about * ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Guest guest
Thanks for the response on nose bleeds - I will talk to the doctor about it. Your son said it didn't hurt? Maybe we will wait until Vico has a bit more language before sticking something up his nose - but I would love to stop these darned things. Sometimes it does seem to take a while to get them to stop. He now understands that he has an " owie " on his nose so he will let me put a rag to his nose, before he would tantrum and push us away and we just had to let him bleed all over us until it stopped (did I mention on this list that this happened on an international flight once.... boy were we popular) Thanks again. Guest guest
Duh... brain obviously not connected. The saline solution! I have lots of allergies and my cousin told me about a natural remedy. It is called a netti pot - don't know if I have that spelled right. I think it is a Yoga type thing since clear breathing is important for practicing Yoga. Anyway - it looks like Aladdin's lamp and basically you fill it with warm spring water and a bit of sea salt. You lean over the sink and put the end of the " lamp " up one nostril and pour the water up your nose - the goal is to get the water to come out the other nostril. (I know, it's gross) After a couple of times and some coughing and splutering I was actually able to accomplish this! Since we have moved I can't find my netti pot, so I may have to buy another one. But - I doubt I could get my son to do this, but I could get a nasal spray thing with homemade Saline solution to work. Anyway - I just thought I would share since this netti pot thing was something that I actually found helpful for my allergies. How could I have forgotten that? It's not every day you shoot water through your nose! Moira mom to Vico (4ASD) and Culzean (10.5 months) > Nose bleeds can be a sign of allergy (allergic nose). Guest guest
WOW......THAT WEIGHT GAIN IS SUPER -COLLASOL..That is something to be happy about. Your doing all the right things it seems Good luck-have a great 2003 to look forward to LOVE & HUGS, GRANDMOMBEv Nose Bleeds I was wondering if anyone has experience with frequent nosebleeds. My older daughter who is a carrier but doesn't have CF has had several problems with them. I am sure it has a lot to do with it being winter but a strange thing keeps happening with them. She gets these really large clots of blood that come out. Once the clot comes out, we are able to control the nosebleed but until then it bleeds off and on. I think part of it may be the little finger which keeps going into the nose trying to get the clot out but either way I find it strange that she gets these huge clots of blood that we pull out of her nose. I thought I would ask you guys since sinus problems are often associated with CF. Emma had a check-up today. At 30 months old, she weighs (drum roll please) 30 1/3 pounds. Most of this is from our supplementing her food with extra calories as she still eats and drinks very little, throws up at least once a day and has to have all of her food pureed in order to keep it down. So ... for Emma giving her as many calories as we can has really worked wonders. Talk to you later and thanks in advance for your help, Law - mom to Emma 2 1/2 years old w/cf and Isabelle 4 years old wo/cf ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
