My mito doc told me that tylenol passes though the mitochondria as it

works and does more damage to our mito. He recommends ibuprofen for

pain/headaches Also, with any headache med, if you take it more than 3

days a week you are most likely causing rebound headaches. 400 mg of B2

taken daily helps some with their headaches if they get migraines.

There is also a file in the file with foods to avoid if you

are prone to headaches.

Not sure about Tylenol as a good pain medication, but we were told by the doctor

in Milwaukee who diagnosed our MELAS that we should not take aspirin. He said

Tylenol or Advil (or their generic). He really did not specify which was

better. I had heard once that Advil is better for toothaches and tylenol for

fevers but not sure where I heard it.

However, I know that at least one person with mito cannot take I think it is

tylenol with out an allergic reaction.
