HOPE SO! > > la " This list is growing so quickly that it sometimes seems to be mainly parents of fairly recently diagnosed children, thus the younger ages. But there are plenty of us with older children, even adults, on the list. Some listmates have followed the diet for more than 5 years. My son (10) and I are almost 11 months on the diet, and it just gets easier & easier & we'll never go back. " Normal " food to us is now " unhealthy " food, and both of us feel the negative impact. I can't say what my son will do when he's well into his teens, but for now he religiously reads ingredient lists and questions people who hand him food. He has removed fruit roll-ups from his " ok " list on his own because he found himself unable to do school work after eating one a teacher gave him. We're fortunate that he's very verbal and we can talk about his initial feelings of loss and cheer about all the gains he's made on the diet.
