Guest guest
a year ago we were talking institutions for myalmost 9 year old 90# son, he couldn't write his alphabet and processed emotions like a two year old, I home schooled him while our school waited for an opening in a day treatment program and began the process of looking for an institution. He was restrained almost daily inpatient. He came home from this third hospitalization at a phschiatric facility last christmas with the diagnosis I guessed years ago-pdd w/autistic like tendancies. In February I read Parents March artilce about the mom who cured her son, skepitcal but desprate, I was already losing my son, I gave it a try, at first just no milk, day 4 I awoke at 8am startled by the silence. always woke around 5-6 hooting and howling and bouncing off the walls. He is my built in alarm clock! I rushed out in the living room to discover my very rigid child who had recently add another lego structure to his display shelf with gritted teeth saying again and again No one can touch this. Over the years he slowly lost skills, once he was a creative lego artist, now he would only build what was on the box cover exactly as the instruction stated and never ever touch it again. I discovered him on the floor this amazing morning with all the structures scattered, disassembled and reassembled into a 4 foot spaceship with every guy (20 or so) lined up, they were headed for a black hole to escape the prison moon! I said, " Jay, look what you did!! " He looked up with awe and said " I remember how to play this way! " Its been one delight after another scince then. Lots of struggles getting his teachers to recongnize the importance of the diet, but as he developed, the more obvious the effects of an infraction became to them. Now he is reading and writng for fun and working at a third grade level. He still has his autistic tendencies, but when he crawls under a table or starts hooting and I as him to come out or stop he does!
