Hi!

Here's a versatile dish:

Homestyle Country Sausage

1 med. apple, peeled and shredded ( I use a pear since we can't do apples)

1/2 c. cooked brown rice

2 T. grated onion

2 garlic cloves

1 1/2 tsp. sage

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

1/2 tsp. thyme

1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

1 lb. ground turkey (or ground beef)

Combine all ingredients. Mix well. Shape into 8 patties. Cook in a skillet

5-6 min. per side or until done.

* I've also cooked this like ground beef and then added chicken broth and or V-8

juice, to make a soup

* I've cooked it like ground beef and added cubed potatoes (and you can add

eggs)

* I've also used it as a cracker spread
