Sharon,

I do not wish to insult you but I have to respond to the criticizing you

have done to Dr. in Washington DC. He is my son's doctor and I

do not think what you have said is fair to him or his patients.

You are condemning him for the very trait that we are seeking in our

medical doctors - that is the wisdom to follow what they believe in and

not conform to what everybody else is subscribing to, when it goes

against their educated beliefs.

You said " WHY is he a DAN DR? " . Is there a rule that you have to follow

every single thing that comes along in the DAN conferences in order to be

considered a DAN DR? I am not trying to minimize your frustration or

your own belief in the chelation process but I do not feel that you

should condemn all the good Dr. does for us because he doesn't

do chelation and it is causing you great stress. I believe you have to

talk to and interview a doctor and find out if he/she is going to be able

to help you. If he doesn't meet your criteria then move on. Just

because you don't believe he could help you does not mean he won't or

can't help others. Dr. has helped us and I don't care what

acronyms he belongs to. He is the only doctor I have met so far that

actually believes in the GFCF diet and the affects of allergies on ASD

kids. He has worked with and helped many ASD kids over many years in his

practice. He has an ASD grandchild which gives him a lot of insight into

the ASD world from a family member's perspective.

I understand your plight as I have one of my own and he is sitting in

front of the T.V. watching Clifford as we speak.

One year ago my 5 year old son couldn't even understand Clifford. After

one year on the GFCF diet (actually it only took one week) and the

identification and treatment of many allergies, and the addition of a

supplement regimen, he is like a new child. I am thankful to have

found Dr. and for the help he is giving my son, which was not

given by our regular pediatrician or family doctor.

Again, I am not against you expressing your views, I just wanted to

express mine regarding this particular doctor whom I respect. I hope

others will not be turned off to going to him since he may be able to

help them. There are so few doctors out there who even believe in this

diet. I hate to see a good one passed by.

Charlene
