I am hand typing this as I cannot get it to copy and paste. This all came from Theresa's post below, so please read it also. Please write to the guy and give him his due. Please, can someone with more computer skills than me, post this on as many sites as possible, including Special Ed. sites. Let us inundate this man and his emotionally " retarded " site. Mike Page at mpage@... Hi Lorelie Thank you for your email Since we received a number of emails such as yours we want to clarify our position on our Unintentionally Funny Site of the Year Award. The 10 sites listed this year in our Unintentionally Funny Site listing have all been submitted by our fans. As far as the listing of the Autistic site, I think many people have missed the point of why, us and so many other people have considered it funny. What is being poked fun of is not the people with autism but rather a website which goes into detail about how to get a date. The point being is that if someone is not capable of getting a date without directions will they actually be capable of booting up a computer, connecting to the Internet and surfing over to the site to get those instructions? It's similar to getting instructions on dialing a phone only after solving a NY Times crossword puzzle. It's surprising that many people missed exactly why we considered the site so entertaining and ironical. On a personal level I have known a number of parents with autistic kids, and they have all been wonderful people who had nothing but wonderful things to say about their children. And I feel for the pain and hardship they must go through. Having said that I personally do not feel great remorse for autistic children and teenagers since they always tend to be happier and more outgoing than most adults I know. And it is hard for me to feel sorry for someone who is happier in life than me. ly at times I wish I was retarded. We are actually interested in doing an article on just exactly why retarded people tend to be happier than non-retarded people? If you can shine some light on this, please do. In either case thank you for your time and email, I hope you take he time to write back. Warm Regards, Mike Page In response to.... http://www.autism.clarityconnect.com/autboard/_disc13/000007b8.htm
