Guest guest
Hi: My son, Collin, has been CF for almost a year and GF for six weeks. We also have him off bananas as they seemed to make his poops more runny than usual. My question is, if we have not yet seen any improvements that I can attribute to the diet, can we expect to ever see improvement? I haven't seen *anything* encouraging since we started the diet, except of course that the foods I'm making for him now are healthier than what he used to eat. We did not see a huge regression immediately after going GF, which I'm told would've actually been a GOOD sign. He's no worse, but he's no better, either. Any suggestions as to what to do next? Should I try supplements, or Nystatin, or remove something else? He doesn't seem to have a particular reaction to any food he's on now. He still has very loose stools, though. I'm open to suggestions! I'm not planning to give up on the diet any time soon, since as I said it's healthier than his previous diet. I also feel he needs to be off gluten because he always wanted to eat tons of it before (and still will sneak it if he gets the chance). I'd appreciate any help. in NC <--Mom of Hannah, 6 (Asperger's) and Collin, 4 (autism)
