Hello all -

has been having some quivering jaw/chattering teeth episodes

the last few weeks, the last week his teeth have chattered almost

constantly. He called me at work and told me that I needed to come

home. His speech was slurred and he was having trouble forming the

words to say to me. I called 911 and we took him to the hospital.

The Doctors here in Dayton are NOT familiar w/mito and ran several

tests to check to see if he had a stroke. I gave them Dr.

Simpson's number early this morning so they could call him and get

the answers that they are looking for and it took them all day to

call. Then, they just had his records faxed over (I am very very

angry over this). He has been in the hospital since yesterday and

they've run EKG's, bloodwork, corroderal (sorry of spelling) artery

ultrasound to check to see if he has a blood clot that is impairing

his speech. Although he has no memory or " brain " problems, he still

is having great difficulty forming words. The speech therapist said

she thinks the muscles in his face are weak(well DUH!!). then a

rehab DR came in and tested 's reflexes and he did a reflex

test on his foot he rolled his foot around in a circle and pushed it

back quickly and let go. 's foot involuntarily bounced back and

forth (much to our shock since we've never seen it do that before)

Rehab doc said it wasn't normal and it's call Clonis (sorry for

spelling). We are extremely worried that his speech won't return to

normal, we go to Dr. S. on the 18th and he goes for an MRI tomorrow

so please send me back some information if there is anyone who has

experienced these symptoms and can share some insight for me. I

would appreciate it greatly and so would . thanks for your

help.
