Guest guest
Lea, You are right. A side effect of T-3 is a racing heart. I take T-3 compounded with a time release formula. That helps you only get what you need when you need it. The only time I have had atrial fibrillation is when both of my pacer leads had cracks in them. ( I had told my cardiologist 6 months before that I thought I had a cracked lead, but that is another story) Since I am 100% pacer dependent, my heart went crazy trying to keep me alive. I have never had a problem since my leads were replaced. And I even have proof of that. My pacer keeps a record of any strange heart beats. No atrial fibrillation in 2 years! And I have been on a much higher dosage of T-3 than I was on at the time. I have thought about getting the other forms of thyroid hormone you mentioned. T-1,T-2 etc. but I have yet to find a dr who can help me with that. Dr's Lanni and Gogli over in italy are doing research on the different forms of thyroid hormone and how it is related to fatty acid oxidation defects. Hopefully someday someone will figure this all out. Until then I guess we just have to deal with these all knowing dr's. I liked the one who diagnosed me. He was humble enough to say he didn't know.
