Several reason's:

1. I live very far away from Dr. Amy. I live in Ohio.

Traveling to Louisiana will only be a one or 2 possibility.

We have only gone once.....we communicate

through faxes, and phone calls. I just ordered

a test kit from her office yesterday. She knows

people come from far away and tries very hard

to make it a one trip deal!

I need someone to supervise locally in case

we have problems. I want that person to be familiar

with my child. He is a good doctor. He has always

listened and learned.

Then he will be able to direct you to the lab to do all

of the testing Dr.Amy will send you prescriptions for.

2. Insurance reason's

My insurance MIGHT pay in part IF I have a

referal from my son's pediatrician...................................

We do not have an HMO. We have a PPO.

So we thought insurance may cover 50% of Dr.Amy's charges.

We paid full price up front, in a few weeks Dr.Amy

received checks from our insurance company,

endorsed them to us, and we got them in the mail.

Our insurance reimbursed us for 80% of everything

but the airfare!!! I called to find out why. They said it's

because it is considered non-access. In other words.

No one in their network is located there.

Something you might call about.

We are already struggling so much financially.

My husband works 2 jobs and we still can't pay

all the monthly bills let alone pay for medical services

and supplements.

Some help......don't forget to keep your receipts

and records of travel to and from the pharmacy

(yes, they are deductible) copayments, and

any piece of paper that any recognized professional

suggests supplements on. Dr. Amy is writing us

a prescription for the non-prescription supplements

our son is taking. She has even written prescriptions

for occupational and speech therapy.

Remember!!! You do not have to have all of these

papers in order to claim the amounts. Just have them

ready in case you get audited which is an

almost non-existent possibility.

I hope I have helped some............

let me know if i can help more...............laurie
