Guest guest
I am on my 3rd Endo because the first two were so arrogant. Drive me crazy. This last one is still arrogant, but he does listen a lot better than the other 2. I think medical schools have several courses these doctors are required to take, (i.e. arrogance 101, God complex 102, etc) ( " The endocrinologists around here are a tough lot. The last one I saw was so arrogant that he said he had the article I had with me, written by Cohen on Mito In Adults, but that he had not read it and would not read it. " ) Pure T-3 can make your heart go crazy...it does mine. I take Armour Thyroid which has T-3 and T-4 as well as T-0, T-1, and T-2. You don't hear much about those last three. Armour is a natural product made from the thyroid of pigs. I don't do well on T-4 only products like Synthroid because, like many people, I don't convert T-4 easily to T-3 which is the active hormone in the body. Instead I make a lot of what is called 'reverse T-3' which is used by the body to slow down metabolism. I have a theory that this is somehow related to my Mito. You can't diagnose the reverse T-3 with the " standard " tests that the doctors do. They usually do a TSH or Thyroid Stimulating Hormone and not much else. My TSH was always in the normal range even when I was Hypothyroid. Lea
