Guest guest
Hi Jen, I use the bar for lots of things, including diaper changes and pulling an escaping baby back across the bed so I can grab her lol. She doesn't mind, and sometimes I even leave the bar on for a diaper change when I'm just about to take it off for the day (she's at 12hr/day now) because the diaper change is easier with it on. I don't think there's any problem with doing this and if there is... I'm a bad, bad mama because I have always used the bar for changes and have been for over a year and a half now :~} I also co-sleep with my CF baby as I have with both my other two. Every night, all night. I just put her on her side and pull the bar up against my waist and let her lean it on me. So she's side lying while nursing and the covers help hold her feet up against me vertically. I used to have back issues with my first because I would lie all night with my arm so high above his head it twisted my upper back and made it very sore. Since then I have learned to not put my arm up so high and I also still sleep with a pillow between my legs like I did when I was pg. My hips are SHOT after 3 pg's and that pillow is now an essential tool for me sleeping at night. Her brace lies up against me with the pillow between her spread out feet most of the time and when she's done nursing she just rolls onto her back and sleeps the rest of the night. I have really found co-sleeping to be a non-issue with the DBB although I was rather worried about it at first. What's funny, is now if I ever put her to bed without her brace on (OK - I admit it... occasionally she falls asleep before I get it on and I put it on when I go to bed or I simply cannot find the darn thing after a hectic day with kids messing up the house and it falling somewhere or whatever...) she kicks her feet and fusses and just doesn't sleep very quickly (I nurse her to sleep still). So I end up getting up and searching like crazy for the thing and putting it on her so she can sleep. Very strange lol. She doesn't wear it for naps (we have always done the whole time straight through, even 18 hours/day) and doesn't have a problem sleeping then but at night... well it is part of her routine and she doesn't seem to sleep well without it. I think for the co-sleeping thing you're just going to have to work to find a comfortable position for the both of you. IME, if you stay in one position most of the night that it can really make your back sore so find something that doesn't twist you or make you uncomfortable, that should help some. I hope someone has some better advice for you on how to nurse without pain, I just had to find what worked for me which may not work the same for you. Good luck and don't worry about those diaper changes. That bar has to be useful for something else other than keeping feet corrected huh? hehe! Guest guest
Jen, I can only help with the diaper changing situation. We did the same thing with Dylan and never had an issue with it. Made diaper changing much easier. LOL I know others here have had success with bf in bed so I'm sure you'll get some great advice. Guest guest
Hi I was just wondering if others have noticed a loss of hair or lack of growth when pushing yourself too much or are crashy. Since stopping work, I am now growing hair on my arms and legs. I'll even have to shave my legs after more than two years. This also happened when I went off the supplements before a biopsy. laurie
