Guest guest
My son has been on the GFCF Diet for almost 7 months now and we have seen incredible gains in complaince, attending and behaviors. We are totally convinced that the diet has drastically reduced the non- compliance issues we were dealng with on a daily basis and the change has been very rewarding for us. Every day has been better then the last and we have a renewed faith in my son's future!!! However, over the past 5 days or so we have seen a very gradual regression in behavior. Tevin is returning to " pre-diet " behaviors (non-compliance in the stores, dropping to the floors and screeching/high pitched screaming not to mention an increase in verbal stims). Although this used to all be part of Tevin's regular behavior and personality, it had COMPLETELY diminished since starting the diet to the point where we were now beginning to see the beginning of the end of our journey and on our road to recovery. HOWEVER..... as I mentioned the last 5 days or so we are seeing the return of these behaviors despite a very steady and drastic increase in language. When my husband and I analyzed and re-traced our steps over the past five days, the ONLY thing we have changed is adding the " FROOKIE " brand Gluten/Wheat Free chocolate chip and double chocolate cookies to Tevin's diet. We were trying to look to expand Tevin's limited " treats " and thought that since these cookies specifically mentioned " GLUTEN FREE " that they could be okay. However, now 5 days later (after seeing this regression in behaviors) we are wondering that perhaps something is in these cookies. These behaviors have only begun to return since the introduction of these cookies and I am wondering if anyone else on the list have also seen a regression in their child after eating these cookies? Is there casein in this product? I would be very very very interested in hearing from anyone else that have had this same experience. Please feel free to email me privately at: abamom@... THanks!!!!!! ~
