Guest guest
<< I lost a whole year to the wrong diagnosis! Please have a GT Test done, and not a three hour, a six hour, the test is long but worth it! Before I was so tired and out of it, my vision was even effected and I was so moody! That all changed with the proper diet! Now, I am looking into the GF thing with my children. >> That's so interesting you mentioned Hypoglycemia. When I was about 13 we spent Thanksgiving at my Step-Dad's parents house and my Grandma always checked my Great Grandpa's blood sugar since he was a diabetic. I went ahead and let her do the finger stick on me and she said my blood sugar was very low. Do you crave sweets if you are Hypoglycemic? They did test me for Diabetes but it was fine. Do I need to see a specialist for this test? I don't eat very good at all, am ALWAYS tired, just plain yucky feeling and don't sleep good sometimes. I've been on the diet somewhat with my boys, but I don't take the supplements they do. Bridgett in KY>> Bridgett, I use to eat sweets, especially when I was feeling tired or whatever! It would raise my sugar up high(Not DIABETIC high though) and then CRASH it down! A lot of Hypoglycemic people have huge sweet tooths, because their body is craving it, to get back up,But it's the sugar that is the problem. You need PROTEIN!!!!!! And lots of small meals a day! Low, Low sugar intake is best. JUICE IS THE WORST!!!!!!! Alcohol is horrible too. I drank at parties in college, especially wine coolers and would get soooooooo sick. I thought that was a hang over, I stopped drinking my Junior year and haven't since. It is just not good for me. Plus I hate what it can do to people. Seen too much of that! So look out for Wine and sugar, but be careful, because the body view GLUTEN and MILK as sugar, all food really, so watch out not to substitute Pasta and bread when you are trying to stay away from Sugar. Your body is a craving machine. If you learn how to eat right, protein, veg, limited gluten and sugar, you will feel 500% better in five days!!!!!! I am not joking, " IF " this is your problem. In seven days of the proper diagnosis and seeing a nutritionist, I was back looking for a job, driving and happy! Went wacky on me both pregnancies! Here's what you need to do. Find the best Diabetes Doctor around, because Unfortunately Hypo, leads to Diabetes later on for most people. Keeping weight low, exercising and eating right can slow this process until you are very old, so don't panic. I wish I would follow my own advice more often. Once you find the right doc. Have him run a 6 hour GT test. Then find a great NUTRITIONIST! They will be the one to help you the most! But regardless of the GT test, it may come out wrong on a good day. Try eating this way, I can help more if you need it. And do it for a week and see what happens. Small amounts of the right foods, every two hours. Stay away from Juice and real fruit too! Good Luck and let me know! Laurie
