Q-gel

Hi everyone,

I was reading one of the posts and noticed that someone mentioned Q-Gel. I have

tried it once before and didn't notice a difference in anything. I am now back

on 200 mg of regular CoQ-10.

Does anyone think the Q-Gel works better than the regular CoQ-10 and are there

any disadvantages to it?

Thanks,

Lea

Thanks ,

So that would be 900 mg of Q-Gel? Wow! That's a lot...especially since it is so

expensive. Where do you buy yours? Someone told me that Swanson had a good

price, but at the that level it still must cost a lot.

Has anyone had experience with insurance paying for it?

Re: Q-gel

Lea,

I am taking Q-Gel 300 mg 3 times a day and I can tell a difference in me. I

haven't taken any other kinds of CoQ10 so I can't tell what the other stuff

does. I just know that since I have started taking the Q-Gel, I am not getting

as tired doing anything during the day as I was. Unless of course I do any kind

of physical activity and then my body turns to mush lol.

I do know that some people the CoQ10 works and others it doesn't. From what

my cousin says (her son has mito) she says that the Q-gel is better because the

body absorbs it better. That is what the big hype is about with Q-Gel versus

other Co-Q10 products.

Sorry I couldn't help you more.

I definitely have had better luck with the Q-get, but at the same dose as

the other CoQ10 which means I am getting more CoQ10. It is more

bioavailable, so less is going down the toilet. It is the opinion of my MDA

neuro that until you are getting up near 1200 mg., you might wasting your

money. He suggests going up to this level before giving up on it. This might

not be appropriate for you, so please make this decision with your doctor

I use the CoQ and order it directly from Tishcon. I see Dr. Cohen, so I get

a discount that way. As a mito patient they might give it to you as well. I

get about $45 off the large 1000 count 60mg.

My insurance pays for part of mine. It is not paid for as a prescription, so

I have to pay for it and then they re-imburse part of what I have paid. I

was told that they key to getting it approved is to find someone in your

state who has the same insurance and if they are getting it paid for, then

your chances are good. Others on the list have gotten it paid for by will

and determination on their part.
