Guest guest
Okay, I've been planning to write about this topic for a long time. Our son , 5 1/2, never got car sick until around 15 months (about the same time the autistic behaviors started setting in). Traveling has been a nightmare for us. I have developed severe anxiety problems because I always worry if he is going to get sick. Anyway, I have some philosophies about 's car sickness and I need some input. I fully believe that this problem stems from the gut issues suffers from. The car sickness is totally uncontrollable if 's yeast gets out of control or he is in the middle of a die off. Also, he does get sick easier if he has NOT eaten. But I also notice that the higher his anxiety the greater chance of getting sick so we try to plan out trips and prepare through his PECS cards even though he is verbal. One thing I can't do in a car is read. But seems better if he is looking at books or watching videos (TV/VCR for our van was the best investment we ever made!). Now shouldn't these activites make him sicker. Anyway, we have resorted to doses of Children's Dramamine. Let me know your opinions.
