Guest guest
Yesterday I requested Nystatin from my son's pediatrician. She's actually a NP and doesn't know much about Autism treatments, but she's awesome (unlike some of the arrogant ped's I've experienced.) and didn't even blink when I laid out all the tests I wanted. The only problem is that I don't know if I got the right type of nystatin. I'd like to run it buy you all and see what you think. First, it does have sucrose. It's a liquid oral suspension. 100,000 Units/mL. I read (after I requested the Nystatin) that I should get a specific type. Powder, and sugar free. I kind of think this is meant for yeast in the mouth as it says to place half on one side of the mouth and half on the other. What really confuses me is that the box says 1 ml three times a day for 7 days. However, the package insert says: (FYI, my son is 3.5 yr.'s old and approx. 40 lb.) Infants: 2mL(200,000 units) four times daily. Children and Adults: 4-6 mL (400,000 to 600,000 units) four times daily. It also states that the preparation should be held in the mouth for a period of time. I'd like to start this tomorrow. Should I wait and get something different? If it's okay then what dosage would you use? Thanks! Jeannie
