Guest guest
Hi Jo, - Jay at Kinnickinnick Foods is right on the money. One of the first things they tested my (neurotypical) son for when he went into failure to thrive was celiac sprue. He's okay, but at three years, he is still tall, with a big(!!) head, and very very skinny. Unlike your child, his appetite wasn't the best. he had a sensory problem with mushy food (i.e. baby food) and wanted (still does) foods like raw apples, red peppers, baby carrots - all this with no teeth! We ended up supplementing my breast milk with a maple syrup and oil enhanced goat milk formula, occupational therapy, and feeding therapy. A child with a good appetite should not be in failure to thrive. I hope you get some answers and support from your child's doctors. Best wishes, Carol
