Guest guest
Hi, I am a 60-year old, white-married Mother to three adult children. The reason for my visit to this site: Last night I saw my endocrinologist and my hematocrit and hemoglobin have been low - to me not too low Hemoglobin 11.2 (normals 11.7-15-5) Hematocrit 33.8 (normals 35.0-45.0) She recommended I see a hematologist-oncologist and I don't know why. I feel excellent except for being a little tired and that has been forever. I have been diagnosed with sebaceous cell carcinoma of the left lower-eyelid and will have the cancer removed and then eyelid reconstructed. Can someone help me. Thank you - Bonnie
Guest guest
She wants to see someone before your counts get too low. She may recommend any number of remedies. I would not worry too much about it, just be cautious. Be thankful that she is on top things. One step at at time and you will be fine. Try to keep up your eating, focus on things that can build up your blood. Check out a heart healthy diet , that one seems to cover all the bases. Will Keep you in my thoughts and prayers... Take care and God Bless. Jolene PS I am sure the more knowledgeable members will offer some more concrete advice than I did. Guest guest
I don't know that I'm any more knoledgeable than any of the rest of us, but if you are concerned about having colon cancer, GET A COLONOSCOPY! It isn't a big deal and it is a definitive way to answer your question. Most insurance and Medicare programs will cover the cost for someone of our age if you haven't had a test for five years. Don't sit around and wonder about it. Best wishes; -joe- > > > Hi, > > > > I am a 60-year old, white-married Mother to three adult children. > > > > The reason for my visit to this site: > > Last night I saw my endocrinologist and my hematocrit and hemoglobin > > have been low - to me not too low > > Hemoglobin 11.2 (normals 11.7-15-5) > > Hematocrit 33.8 (normals 35.0-45.0) > > > > She recommended I see a hematologist-oncologist and I don't know why. > > I feel excellent except for being a little tired and that has been > > forever. > > > > I have been diagnosed with sebaceous cell carcinoma of the left > > lower-eyelid and will have the cancer removed and then eyelid > > reconstructed. > > > > Can someone help me. > > > > Thank you - Bonnie
Guest guest
Bonnie, I am so sorry you are going through this. Take it one day at a time and get yourself checked. The only way to find an answer is get checked. It could be and then it could be nothing. Getting a colonscopy will give you the answers. Do not delay. It will give you an easier mind and it is better to know what is going on then not. I am Praying for you.
