Guest guest
Is the heat as bad there as it has been here? It has been oppressively hot and Phil has had a lot of trouble with it. It is sooo important to DRINK and NOT alcohol as it tends to dehydrate. Gatorade or a pedialyte drink are best. That's why I'd ask for the potassium IV's She should also be on antibiotic if she has an infection. I don't know how bad things could be but don't let them give up on her. Sometimes if the doctors think the situation is bad they tend to do little for the secondary stuff. Sure she has cancer and maybe it is very bad but that is NO reason not to treat her other problems. When my Dad was being treated he still got everything he needed regardless of his prognosis. Your Mom deserves the best treatment regardless of what they think about her prognosis. The fact she was out gardening despite her health tells me that she's a fighter and will work hard to prove the doctors wrong. Hope she's feeling better real soon!! Guest guest
Hi Narice, My Mom has always been a little accident prone--the first fall she tripped over some stuff in the garden and fell flat on her stomach and bumped her chin. The second fall came a week later and that was mostly from being so weak from not eating--her legs would just give out. I will ask about your suggestions of the IVs. Thank God for this board and for this group of wonderful people--I think I would really give up hope if it weren't for you guys. Thanks! Diane > Diane > Do they know what caused the falls? I think that might be the cause of many > of the problems. Since she can't have the drugs to boost her counts what about > a transfusion and IVs of iron, potassium etc. > > Hang in there I'll be praying for you. > Narice > > >
