but here goes. My Husband has stage 4 colon cancer and I'll be the

first to admit that, in the grand scheme of things, probably not very

serious, slow growing and had not traveled to any nearby organs. BUT

he is " forgetting " to take his meds. Last Thursday was supposed to be

the end of a two week cycle -- and he still had two more days worth of

pills to take. And this is the second cycle in a row that he has run

out of days before he has run out of meds. So....I'm wondering what's

up with that? Any advice would be welcome -- and yes his internist is

already reviewing a list of psychiatrists for referral.

Hi Cathy...don't be embarrassed...it happens here, too!!! Glenn was

" forgetting " to take some of his meds, for various reasons (not chemo, but

other

meds important to his health!!) so I decided to just hand the liquid to him and

the pills and watch him take it before I leave for work...same thing at

night. Not sure what he takes during the day!!!

But I think Hillary has a great idea with that little gizmo she's talking

about. I might have to check in to that for Glenn for during the day. Will he

get out of his lazy boy and actually take the meds....remains to be

seen...LOL Good luck with this Cathy...persevere, take charge, whatever you

have to

do!!

Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle

I always took charge of the medicine when my husband was undergoing

chemo because he would just forget to take it. Even now, after two

years off chemo, if I don't set his vitamins and supplements out, he

forgets to take them. If you husband is agreeable and you are able to

do it, I'd suggest you take charge of the medication until he can or will.

I had a problem remembering to take my meds before I had cancer:) I finally got

a great pill dispenser on Ebay from Sharper image. I had tried the pill boxes

with so many for each day but that did not help me remember. With this I fill up

each dispenser for several days and set the time I am suppose to take them. Then

it will beep to let me know it is time and dispenses me one. If I do miss one

it even tells me so. I think it was about 30.00 but well worth it. I will admit

right now I have let the battery run out which lasted a long time and have not

replaced it even though it is a regular battery. Yep I am forgetting some. There

is one on Ebay now you can see what it looks like and how it works.

forgets his which he was doing and she told me about this.

Hi: My Dad had so manys medicines that it was so overwhelming for both my Mom

and Dad. We would put the medicine out for 2 days in plastic bags and label the

day and time, It did help.
